We have a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Not only do we work very hard to integrate residents into our community and feel at home, we’re also committed to making families feel at home here too. The following are some of the measures we take to help our residents settle in and also help family members feel comfortable and get involved:

• Guardian Angel Program : We have a Guardian Angel Program for approximately 6 weeks to provide support and a smooth transition to our home for residents and their families.
• Family Involvement: Family members are encouraged and welcomed to participate in activities with their loved one.
• Resident Care Plan: Family members, along with their loved one participate actively in all aspects of the development of the resident’s Care Plan.
• Family Feedback: We make regular follow up phone calls to family members to ensure they are satisfied with the care their loved one is receiving and if there are any issues or concerns they would like to discuss.
• Quarterly Tea : We host a Quarterly Tea and invite new family members so they can meet staff, residents and other family members.
• Open Door Policy: We have an open door policy so whenever a family member wants to talk, we’re here to listen.

Maintaining strong connections to others is essential to keeping people active and involved.

Getting you out into the community and bringing the community into our home is important to your quality of life. Here are some of the ways in which the residents and staff get involved with the community, and how the community connects with us:

• Resident Outings: We organize regular outings for residents that include everything from dinner at the Legion, touring Parliament Hill and excursions to Almonte to a day at Olde Stanley Maple Lane Farm and picnics in Andrew Hayden Park.
• Community Volunteers: Our large and dedicated core of community volunteers provides assistance with spiritual services and other programs.
• Intergenerational Program: Our Intergenerational Program bring young children into our home to spend time interacting with residents.
• Fall Bazaar: We host an annual Fall Bazaar to which the whole community is invited.
• College Involvement: Some of our Program Managers teach courses at local community colleges.
• Charity Involvement: We are actively involved with local charities such as Heart and Stroke Foundation.
