Extendicare was pleased to welcome partners from across our network at Lionhead Golf Club and Conference Centre for the 11th annual charity golf tournament in support of the Alzheimer Society of Canada (ASC).

Over the last few months, I have been a summer student on the Public Affairs team – one of eight university students who interned at Extendicare's head office in Markham, Ontario.

It has been an Olympics to remember for residents at Extendicare Columbia Forest, who have been experiencing the Paris Games in a unique way, from the comfort of their long-term care home in Waterloo.

Northern Ontario media outlets, including Timmins Today and the North Bay Nugget, highlighted the recently announced expansion of the Living Classroom program at Extendicare Timmins and Kirkland Lake.

“It’s very important to maintain a positive experience for residents in the dining room,” says Kay, dietary manager at Extendicare Bayview in Toronto, ON. “One of the ways we can do that is by equipping residents with a variety of choices, so that food can be prepared in a way that makes our residents happy.”

In collaboration with Medix College, this fall, Extendicare’s long-term care homes in Kirkland Lake and Timmins will implement the Living Classroom program, offering students hands-on Personal Support Worker (PSW) education in long-term care home settings.

An exciting new chapter has begun in Sudbury, Ontario where residents, families, team members, and officials recently celebrated the grand opening of Extendicare Countryside, the newest long-term care home in the region.

Local media outlets, including CTV Northern News and the Sudbury Star, were onsite to capture the joy and excitement as Extendicare Countryside celebrated its grand opening with residents, family members, staff, and government officials.

For the third consecutive year, Extendicare has been named to the Globe and Mail Women Lead Here list, a recognition of representation of women in leadership roles through this annual benchmark of executive gender diversity in large Canadian corporate organizations.
